Hi Steve, Thanks for commenting. What I am saying — perhaps not very well — is that the defining charactersitics of our faith (creation fall, redemption, new creation) stand above your or my opinion on other matters … however important you or I may think these are. Thats not the same as “allowing anything”.

Many attitudes I come across from Christians worry me because of the lack of love and presence of judgementalism within them. I often wonder how many people in my church know, are related to, work or have worked with people who are same-sex oriented. It’s easier to be negative about same-sex issues but often less so when we know a person who is involved in them.

I am a bit puzzled by the tenor of this article. The underlying idea of allowing anything for the sake of unity would lead ultimately to something that was not discernibly Christian. It has been tried before in the time of the Judges when everyone did what was right in their own eyes. Judges 17 v 6.
